USAN congratulates maestro Chingiz Sadykhov with jubilee, thanks Speaker Pelosi for noting Azerbaijani-American contribution

Washington D.C. - U.S. Azeris Network (USAN) is wholeheartedly congratulating Maestro Chingiz Sadykhov, a great Azerbaijani-American, with the widescale celebration of his 80th jubilee in the United States, particularly at the San Francisco Conservatory. Furthermore, USAN thanks Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for sending a warm letter to Maestro Sadykhov as well as issuing a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition to the prominent Azerbaijani-American. USAN Board of Directors is sending a letter of appreciation to Speaker Pelosi for paying great attention to the Azerbaijani-American community, and welcomes greater cooperation and contacts with Speakers' office.

Chingiz Sadykhov (Azerbaijani: Çingiz Sadıxov), also spelled Sadikhov or Sadighov (born 5 April 1929, Baku), is a pianist from Azerbaijan.

He graduated from the Bul-Bul Musical School in Baku and Azerbaijani State Conservatory. Mr. Sadykhov further studied for his Ph.D. degree in Moscow Conservatory under professor Goldenveyser. He then returned to Baku where he lived until 1994 before immigration to the US. He currently resides in San Francisco, California.

Initially Chingiz Sadykhov played classical music but later switched to the Azerbaijani classical music. He has spent much of his life accompanying Azerbaijan's most prominent singers, including Bulbul, the founder of Azerbaijan's professional vocal school; Rashid Behbudov, the singer who most often represented Azerbaijan throughout the world during the Soviet period; and Muslim Magomayev (1942-2009), one of the former Soviet Union's best-known pop stars. When asked how many songs are in his repertoire, Chingiz readily admits that there are so many that he wouldn't know where to start counting.

As part of this press release, please find the: 1) Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition to Maestro Chingiz Sadykhov, 2) Letter from Speaker Pelosi to Maestro Chingiz Sadykhov, and 3) an article on 80th anniversary of Maestro Sadykhov at Pacific Grove Home Bulletin-one of the home papers of the Monterey Peninsula in California.

USAN welcomes all activities designed to the raise the profile of Azerbaijani-Americans and build bridges between the American (including Azerbaijani-American) and Azerbaijani people as well as their respective nations.
